Liturgical Hints & Ideas

After Easter Sunday and Christmas, this solemnity ranks next in importance. It marks the culmination of the "Week of Weeks" which is the Easter Season. Mark it with pomp and ceremony, singing the Sequence (called the "Golden Sequence") and the concluding dismissal with double alleluia. Remember that this day, albeit the last day, is a day within the Easter Season. Use all the rituals you've developed (Sprinkling Rite, special Alleluia, incense, attention to the Paschal candle) for Eastertide. The season "officially" ends with Evening Prayer II — can this be a special event for your parish? See Universal Music for Evening Prayer (Gary Penkala).
