CanticaNOVA's free liturgical planning pages consist of a Liturgical Information page (including themes, liturgical color, readings and prayers) and a Music Suggestion page (with options for liturgical music, hymns, choral and organ music) for each Sunday and Solemnity in the Liturgical Year. The links below lead to lists of planning pages for Sundays and Feasts of Year B of the Church calendar (e.g. Advent 2014 - Feast of Christ the King 2015). To see a list for Year A or C, click on the appropriate link above.
New texts. New format. More suggestions.
We are currently in the midst of a project to completely rework all our planning pages. The Liturgical Information pages are being improved and updated to use the texts from the new translation of the Roman Missal. The Music Suggestions pages now begin with Liturgical music - especially music using the official texts of the Church - and continue with an expanding selection of hymns, choral music and organ music.
Pointed texts for priests!
To assist priests in singing the three Orations for Mass (Collect, Prayer over the Offerings, Prayer after Communion), all new planning pages contain these texts "pointed" according to the Solemn Tone of the new Missal (the easier of the two tones). The pointing can be penciled in your sanctuary Missal, or these pages can be used to practice the chanting in preparation for Mass. For more information on using this new feature, please see the article O-rational Thinking.
Lent, Year B has been updated with new music suggestions! 02 February 2015
Pages now include references to the Saint Meinrad Entrance and Communion Antiphons by Columba Kelly OSB [OCP] and there are hymn suggestions for the Lumen Christi Hymnal [Illuminare Publ].
