In medio Ecclesiae: Music for the New Evangelization

Format: Audio CD
Produced by: Dominicana Records
In medio Ecclesiae CD

Recorded in historic Saint Dominic Church in downtown Washington, DC, by the friars of the Dominican House of Studies, Province of Saint Joseph. Directed by Fr. James Moore, OP, In medio Ecclesiae offers some of the finest chant and polyphonic treasures of the Church’s musical tradition as well as two new compositions by Dominican friars.

The Order of Preachers was founded in 1216 by Saint Dominic de Guzman in response to a then desperate need for informed preaching. Against the Albigenisan heresy, which denied the dignity of our humanity, Saint Dominic trained a group of preachers who would serve the Church in its affirmation of the world as the place where Christ is discovered.
