This is one of the options for Responsorial Psalm found in the Collection of Masses of the Blessed Virgin Mary, released by the Vatican in 1986.
The refrain reads: "The Almighty has done great things for me."
The elegant refrain, marked Grazioso, is sung by cantor and congregation, accompanied by organ.
A violin introduction and descant are provided, which can also be played by any other treble instrument or organ solo stop.
SATB harmonies are available for the refrain as well.
The five verses are set to a simple Meinrad-style tone.
Verse 1 is sung by unison women; verse two, by unison men.
A full SATB harmony is provided for verses 3, 4, and 5.
The music was written for the dedication of the outdoor Fatima Shrine at Saint James Catholic Church in Charles Town WV in October 2017, on the 100th anniversary of the apparition.
